My initial inspiration to create came from coloring books, cartoons, and album covers of the 1960s & 70s when I was young. They are still the things that inspire me today. I get bored quickly, so I've learned that I need to have several series going on simultaneously and usually in different mediums. I have worked in drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, bookmaking, and digital imaging. My attention is currently drawn to photography, and painting.
About
Interior Spaces
May 2022 - June 2023
The Interior Spaces series began as a reaction to being quarantined during the pandemic. I photographed the interior spaces that I frequented once businesses started to open. From the photographs, I created colorful digital images. The series became my diary of where I've been throughout the year - restaurants, coffee shops, family & friend's homes, hospitals, veterinary clinic, and several other locations.

Self Portrait: In the Face of Madness
August 2023 - November 2023
I started this series in August 2023. It was a year after my mom passed away. My dad had just gone into a skilled nursing facility. And, I was in the middle of the of the firestorm of being a full time caregiver to my husband, who suffers from depression/anxiety and Parkinson's. I can only describe this time as living in an episode of the Twilight Zone that never ended.

My Head
November 2024 - ongoing
I began working on My Head the day after my dad passed away. I don't know how that's a factor in its creation, but I feel it plays a part. My goal with this series is to play with the concept of the "selfie". What I find as a strong point of this series is how different I look in each photograph. It conjures up self-image issues with the thoughts of how we want to, or think, we present ourselves to the world.
As of March 31, 2025, there is 104 photographs.
